'In the Heat of the Night', disco debut de Pat Benatar, contiene el furioso tema 'Heartbreaker', que la consolidó entre las mujeres que arrasaban en el mundo del rock a finales de los 70. 'In the Heat of the Night' tenía su dosis de relleno, pero el impacto de 'Heartbreaker' y el tema de John Cougar Mellencamp 'I Need a Lover', la hicieron destacar lo suficiente como para colocarla en las listas de éxitos del pop.
