'Skyscraper' escalo rápidamente las listas de éxitos con su sencillo 'Just Like Paradise', pero el espíritu que había otorgado a su debut legitimidad, se derrumbaba en este registro por el ego imparable de David Lee. Se desperdicia potencial al intentar lograr un brillo pop exagerado. Prometedores temas rock como 'Stand Up' y 'Perfect Timing' pierden fuerza tras la excesiva manipulación en el estudio. La acústica 'Damn Good' y 'Two Fools a Minute' no llevan a ninguna parte. 'Knucklebones' y 'The Bottom Line' no impresionan, y 'Hina' y 'Hot Dog and a Shake' son los dos únicos temas que destacan, gracias a las armonías de guitarra de Vai.
