'The Tender, The Moving, The Swinging' es el cuarto álbum de Aretha Franklin editado en agosto de 1962, siendo el segundo disco que lanzaba al mercado ese año, tras 'The Electrifying'. El tema de apertura 'Don't Cry, Baby' es genial y 'Try a Little Tenderness' es una balada agradable. Pero cuando llegamos a 'Look for the Silver Lining', el interés en lo que el álbum tiene para presentar disminuye a medida que la mediocridad en la instrumentación y la falta de poder en la voz de Aretha pasan al primer plano del álbum. Esto continúa en 'I'm Sitting on Top of the World', desafortunadamente aburrido. El álbum se desmorona aún más en la segunda mitad, con 'Just for a Thrill' y 'God Bless the Child'. Es difícil decir mucho más sobre el resto del álbum. Es un álbum bastante aburrido.
